Want a beautiful home that's energy conscious and uses space wisely? This 1,534-square-foot design has a smart layout with some surprising amenities. A few examples: the window seat in the dining room, an extra space for trash and recycling in the garage, and bench and coat closets on the way in from both main entrances. A built-in desk and book shelf are welcome details near the kitchen, where a peninsula snack counter provides space for casual meals. Relax by the fireplace in the living room, with a view of a side patio. In the sleeping wing, the master suite boasts a large shower, two sinks, and a walk-in closet. A full hall bath serves both the second bedroom and the nearby study, which can be used as a third bedroom.

The version of the home in the photographs was built for net zero energy consumption, meaning it makes just as much energy as it uses. Living spaces are designed to take advantage of passive solar benefits, with the kitchen, living, and dining room windows facing south to warm these spaces in the cold climate in which it was built. 12" exterior walls allowed for increased insulation, roof trusses were designed with a raised heel (also to allow for more insulation), and the roof pitch and layout were designed to accommodate solar PV panels. The roof also holds two solar thermal collectors to supply the home's hot water needs (backed up by a tankless water heater for days when the sun isn't out).

Mirror Reversed Sets:
$300.00

A mirror-reversed set is a printed copy of your house, resulting in the same image you would see if you held the drawing up to a mirror. Everything, including the text, is backward in relation to the original design. These kinds of drawing are typically used to reorient an original plan more advantageously on a site, either because the homeowner prefers it that way or because of limitations of the site itself. Note: Mirror reverse sets are only available with a 5 copy or 8 copy set. With a Reproducible, PDF, or CAD set, you can print mirrored copies locally. In addition: 5 Copy set selected, should only allow 4 mirrored sets to be selected. 8 Copy set selected, should only allow 7 mirrored sets to be selected.
