Plan Description

Complete in California stucco, this handsome design features large windows for capturing light and views. The sunken living room boasts a vaulted ceiling and gas fireplace and is separated from the hall by decorative columns that also adorn the dining room. The skylit U-shaped kitchen with an attached breakfast room separates the dining room and the family room. Special features in the family room include deck access, a through-fireplace to the master bedroom and a built-in audio-visual center. The master suite is truly lavish and offers a skylit sitting area with sliding glass doors to the deck, a spiral stair to the den on the second floor, and a bath with a skylit whirlpool tub and double vanities. Everything, including the text, is backward in relation to the original design. These kinds of drawing are typically used to reorient an original plan more advantageously on a site, either because the homeowner prefers it that way or because of limitations of the site itself.
