In this plan, a spiral staircase is utilized outdoors as a link between a private upstairs balcony and an expansive, first-floor deck. The appearance is dramatic, plus the staircase provides upstairs occupants quick and easy access to the deck below. When doors are opened to the outdoors, large groups can be accommodated with ease. The deck's V design reaches an apex at its right-hand side. This shape helps harbor a table and chairs. Just outside the dining-room entrance, a moveable barbecue or sink combination provides handy cooking and cleanup stations for family meals and entertaining. Railings along the perimeter of the deck offer safety and a professional, finished appearance. Two stairways, one directly in front of the balcony and another at the far right, allow for good ground-level access.
